MIKROman's space walk

A world of miniature fold out Art

Mikroworld is a brand of miniature fold out metal sculptures created by designer Sam buxton

Born in London in 1972, Buxton studied furniture design at Middlesex University before starting at the RCA in 1997. After graduation he shared a studio "Design Laboratory" with a fellow RCA graduate, the Danish designer Mathias Bengtsson.

Now working on his own, Buxton has developed commercial projects for Kenzo, Habitat and Eurolounge as well as the burgeoning MIKRO-Man collection which is now expanding into environments with a stainless steel fold-up MIKRO-House.

He was one of the four designers shortlisted for the Design Museum's Designer of the Year award in 2004.

This fold out f eatures Mikroman as an astronaut leaving the landing module on the martian surface.

NASA have a manned mars mission scheduled for 2020. In this mikro glimpse of the future we join Mikro-man just as he steps from the landing module on to the martian surface.

The craft seems undamaged from the landing and all communications devices are intact.

He is equipped for sample collection and is accompanied by his remote 4wd buggy 'mars 1'. All Mikro designs by Sam Buxton. Manufactured under license by Worldwide co.

Made in UK.

Mikro designs are not suitable for children under 12 due to small parts and sharp edges. FLAT
